What we collect
When you install one of our Apps, Shopify provides — on your behalf — the data the App needs to function. Depending on which App and which permissions you grant, that may include your store details (domain, name, currency, time zone, plan), product and inventory data, order data, discount and storefront configuration, and information about staff users who install or operate the App.
When you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to share — name, email, store URL, the contents of your message.
When you visit the Site or use an App, we collect limited technical information (IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, timestamps) for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and the Apps
- Provide the features you have explicitly enabled
- Communicate with you about service updates, billing, and support
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
Retention
We keep your store's data only while the App is installed. When you uninstall, we delete it. The only exception is invoicing and tax records, which we're legally required to keep for a minimum period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent or object to certain processing. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these — we'll respond within the timeframes applicable law requires. Note that we and our sub-processors may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above.
